DESCRIPTION: Wittnauer & Co., Switzerland 8 days, minute repeating travel clock, 24 ligne, 15 jewels, stem wind and set, 3 adjustments, straight line damascened nickel plate movement, with lever escapement and cut bimetallic balance, in a marked sterling silver folding travel case, with engraved acanthus leaf and c scroll decoration, and monogrammed "E.W.N.", the inside of the case marked "Bailey, Banks and Biddle Company", and Arabic numeral, white enamel dial, with plum colored steel spade and poker hands, c1920
CONDITION: CASE: Minor dings and pin pricks; Scratches on outer surface of case; Minor scratches on crystal; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Hairlines in enamel, very light, 12:00 to center, center to 7:30, 9:00 to 5:30; Flakes in enamel concealed by bezel, 3:00, 4:30, 9:00; A few minor scratches on dial. HANDS: Very good, minor color loss on minute hand. MOVEMENT PLATES: Numerous minor scratches on plate; Bright work has minor oxidation, finger print on ratchet wheel; A few screw heads marred; Repeat barrel bridge discolored. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks); Balance rim bent. COMPLICATION FUNCTION: Functions properly, movement rotates when the lever is depressed, the pin in the case which prevented this is missing. Overall a very nice little clock, the repeating is loud and with good tone.
